Twelve Clarksville churches to build a Habitat for Humanity house

Members of our local churches, Habitat board and staff members and some equally excited children started using their shovels.

Yesterday morning, twelve churches with shovels in hand ceremonially broke ground to start building a home for Christina Silva and her three children. The smiles were eager and warm as all gathered.  Erica Outlaw, new Executive Director of Montgomery Co TN, opened with a prayer.  All churches participated in the short service bringing unity and excitement to this special build.

Ms Silva, who lost most of her possessions in a fire last week, expressed gratitude for many things in her life. Even with the tragedy last week, she said she was grateful that her children
were nowhere near their home when the fire broke out, having organizations assisting her with clothing and other needs to get for her family and that soon she will be in a permanent home for her family she helped build with Habitat for Humanity
