Intérprete en español (A Spanish interpreter will be present at the Application Preparation Class): Se contará con un intérprete en español para proporcionarle los criterios de elegibilidad, así como una visión completa del programa durante esta reunión.
HFHMCTN selects applicants based on three main factors:
- Need for Adequate Housing
- Ability to Pay
- Willingness to Partner
All applicants accepted into the homeownership program are required to do 250 hours of ‘sweat equity’ per adult to be eligible for an affordable home loan through HFHMCTN. These hours are typically completed in the Habitat ReStore or on the construction site.
HFHMCTN builds new construction, single-family homes in partnership with qualified low-income applicants. These families undergo financial and homeownership education classes before moving into their new homes. A common misconception is Habitat for Humanity gives away homes; however, all homeowners make monthly mortgage payments on an affordable, 20-year loan through Habitat for Humanity. These mortgage payments are then used to build additional homes in our community.
The affordable housing nonprofit will only be accept applications for its homeownership program Jan. 27 – Feb. 10, 2025
