Room In The Inn seeks help from churches

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. –  With colder weather approaching, have you ever thought about where the homeless sleep during the winter months?

Do you know where they get a hot meal?

Your church could be the answer to those questions by participating in Room In The Inn.

The program is coordinated by the Clarksville Montgomery County Community Action Agency. By joining with Room In The Inn, area churches provide homeless neighbors with a hot evening meal and a warm place to sleep on a rotating basis from November through March.

Right now, 12 local churches are participating, but more congregations are needed to make sure each evening is covered for the coming winter. Churches can choose from a number of open dates that need to be filled.

Room In The Inn also needs donations of money, supplies and transportation services.

To volunteer or for more information, contact The Old Firehouse Day Shelter at (931) 542-0381, or visit the shelter at 1498 Golf Club Lane, Clarksville.
