Keith Lampkin, head of city Housing & Community Development, helps lead national, state groups

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. –  Keith Lampkin, director of the Clarksville Office of Housing & Community Development, was elected treasurer of the National Community Development Association’s executive committee at the group’s recent annual conference. 

NCDA is a national nonprofit organization of more than 400 local governments across the country that administer federally supported community and economic development, housing and human service programs. These include programs of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Development Block Grants, and the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs. 

NCDA has been at the forefront in securing effective and responsive housing and community development programs for local governments. The association provides information and technical support to its members on federal housing and community development programs.

The Executive Committee is the leadership arm of the Board of Directors and monitors the activities and financial functions of the association. Other members of the executive committee are: Dale E. Cook Jr., Palm Springs, Calif., president; Sheryl Kenny, Arlington, Texas, vice-president;  and Anne Marie Belrose, Boston, Mass., secretary.

“I am excited to work with our new president and executive officers to continue to advance the work of NCDA in the coming year,” said Vicki Watson, NCDA’s Executive Director. “We will  continue to be the national advocacy leader for our members and their core programs.” 

Lampkin also was elected secretary of the TN Affordable Housing Coalition in March. TNAHC is a group interested in improving the availability and quality of affordable housing in Tennessee. TNAHC has three regional councils representing the Eastern, Middle and Western parts of the state.
