Habitat ReStore and Art for Hearts Present Free Community Art Classes

Clarksville, TN – Habitat for Humanity ReStore and Art for Hearts will present the first in a series of community art classes in July. 

Admission is free, but space is limited. register through EVENTBRITE.

These events will feature local artists leading participants in a painting project on the theme, “Turning Junk Into Something Useful”.

Susie Yonkers will lead the July 13 event painting CD’s in the mandala style. A mandala (Sanskrit for “circle”) is a complex abstract design. Kristi Huang will lead the July 20 class on Persian Style Tile Painting.

“This is a perfect partnership,” said Habitat for Humanity Director Rob Selkow. “We’re blessed with a large space and we want to share in that abundance through community partnerships that bring diverse people together.”

“The mission of Art for Hearts is to engaged the community through participation in the arts, which is a great fit for Habitat.” 

The classes will be held at the Habitat Restore at 408 Madison St. from 1:00-3:00 pm. 

There is no admission charge and all supplies will be provided free. Participants should wear clothing they don’t mind getting messy.

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County is a Christian housing ministry that partners with families in poverty housing on construction of new homes through 0% interest loans and using donated funds, labor and materials.
