Ready to Partner with Habitat for Humanity to Purchase Your New Home?

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Tennessee is currently accepting applications from new partner families to join our homeowner program.

Download our application and turn it in to the office anytime.

One of the most important criteria Habitat looks at in the application process is a family’s need for decent and affordable housing. Another is the family’s ability to pay the mortgage and utilities for a Habitat home. Habitat homes are built and sold to qualified families who are able to afford a zero-interest, 20-year mortgage.

“An important requirement of the program is that applicants are able to be active partners,” said President Kevin Underwood. “A single adult is required to complete at least 250 hours of ‘sweat equity’ towards the construction of their home and the homes of other Habitat families. A family with two or more adults is required to complete at least 500 hours of sweat equity.” Participants must also participate in a monthly homeowner education seminar on subjects ranging from home repairs to budgeting. The goal of the program is to ease the transition from having a landlord to being a homeowner.

“Habitat is dependent on funding from the community, primarily through the Clarksville ReStore,” said Underwood. “Donations to ReStore and shopping with us helps fund construction of decent and affordable housing for Clarksville and Montgomery County.  Our housing ministry could not exist without the generous support of many community partners over the years, now and in the future.”

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County has been building homes here since 1992 by offering a hand-up, not a hand-out.

We don’t give away homes. We partner to create a future with no substandard housing in Clarksville and Montgomery County.

“I am blessed to be in a new home that is affordable and now I have the ability to provide a safe place where my children can grow and have their own space.”  – Habitat Homeowner Paige Fuller
